Shaun Mason is Vice President for ICON Venue Group, a Denver, Colorado-based Owner’s Representative specializing in project management for sports facility developments. ICON has demonstrated expertise in designing, constructing, commissioning, and operating projects for NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and MLS franchises totaling over $6 billion. ICON is a division of leading entertainment and sports agency, Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
Born and raised in Altoona, PA, Shaun’s lifelong passion for sports, design and construction led him to ICON, allowing him the rare and enviable opportunity to incorporate his pastimes into a fulfilling career. Shaun recently served as Project Director for Rogers Place, home of the Edmonton Oilers NHL Hockey Team, which opened in October 2016. In that capacity, he had responsibility to ensure that the arena was designed, constructed, and opened on-time, on-budget, and to the exact specifications of the team and the ownership partnership of the City of Edmonton and the Edmonton Arena Corporation.
Prior to joining ICON, Shaun worked for PJ Dick, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA, where he served on the Construction Management team under the direction of ICON for the PPG Paints Arena, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was previously a Senior Structural Engineer at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM) in Chicago, IL, where he was involved in the design of some of the tallest skyscrapers in the world, including Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago and the Nifeng Tower in Nanjing, China.
Shaun holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, is a licensed Professional Engineer and a LEED Accredited Professional.
