David has more than 33 years of global construction project management, and building commissioning experience, having been involved in projects in Europe, Australasia, and North America. David’s specialties include commissioning project management, building services engineering, and business 0wneship. David moved to Canada 9 years ago, after a successful career in Europe, and has been instrumental in starting up and developing CDML into Canada’s largest nationwide independent building commissioning consultant. As one of the founders of CDML David’s focus has always been to redefine building commissioning, and project close-out in Canada to equal, and to then exceed international best practices, David is the Managing Director of the CDML Group of companies, which includes CDML Converge, and their award winning digital project close-out tools Converge and AiTag.
Since his arrival in Canada he has led the commissioning teams on numerous projects across the country, including the P3 project at Bridgepoint Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, the New Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and Rogers Place the new home to The Oilers here in Edmonton. David was also appointed by the P3 construction company as their commissioning advisor on the $2.1 billion (AUD) New Royal Adelaide Hospital in Adelaide, South Australia, the largest capital investment project in the history of the state.
David is a published author, and a thought leader on integrated testing of buildings in a cold climate. As a full member of ASHRAE, David is one of a select band of commissioning professionals in Canada who hold the ASHRAE Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP) Certification. He is also a member of the SSPC 202, Technical Commissioning Process for Buildings and Systems committee.
