Doing Our Part

We are pleased to announce our Going Green initiative. As we strive towards an environmentally sustainable conference delivery model with this year’s Conference, we are implementing the following initiatives:

• Our conference is bullfrogpowered. Any electricity we consume during the conference will be offset by renewable energy injected into the grid. Bullfrog Power sources all of its electricity from power generation facilities that meet the federal government’s Environmental Choice Program EcoLogoM standard for renewable electricity. These green power suppliers meet the LEED Green Building Rating System’s green power requirements.
• Reducing paper and print consumption by using email and the web for majority of marketing and delegate communications.
• Reducing paper-based forms through online-only registration and conducting the majority of our surveys online.
• Using vegetable-based inks printed on chlorine-free, 100% recycled paper for any unavoidable printed collateral related to the conference.
• Using special re-usable signage stands that allow for the production of signs that do not require mounting onto hard backs (foam-core material and the mounting/gluing process are very damaging to the environment).
• Recycling any left-over paper, boxes, or other recyclable materials at the end of the conference.
• Asking sponsors to provide signage from their existing corporate stocks rather than producing additional specific signage just for our event.

We are committed to implementing green alternatives where we can and we look forward to continuing to add to this list in the years to come as we aim to develop an environmentally sustainable conference delivery model.
